Kathy retired from Wichita Public School in July of 2011 as Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools. She served seventeen years as a building level administrator at both the middle school and high school levels. She taught six years as a science teacher in junior high and high school. Kathy served on a variety of district work committees during her career. Kathy also was an adjunct professor at Wichita State University working with students in the Master’s of Curriculum and Instruction program. She is currently working part time at Wichita State University in the College of Education.

Kathy is a native Kansas, receiving her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University in biological sciences. She received her teaching license through Wichita State University as well as her Master’s of Science Education. Her building and district level administrative licenses were also received through Wichita State University.

 Kathy’s family has four generations who attended Kansas schools and three generations graduated from Wichita Public Schools. She has two grown sons and one grandson.
