Student

  • Turning the Tables: Change is Student Led 
    1 hour

    Tired of listening to old people tell you what to do? Do you know that parents have no idea what you are dealing with? GOOD! Leave this session empowered and motivated to be the change you want to see in your community and schools. Learn why positive relationships are the foundation to a positive school climate, and what YOU can do to lead the charge!
     
  • Motivation for Students 
    1 hour

    With our students being bombarded with so much in today’s world, sometimes it is nice to be uplifted and empowered while learning about what we can do about school safety. This presentation focuses on empowering the audience, and understanding that the sky truly is NOT falling!
     

Staff/Adult

  • Active Assailant Training 
    90-120 minutes

    It is important for school districts and law enforcement to be on the same page when it comes to active assailant trainings. We know that LEOs and school staff speak different languages. Attendees will leave having a better understanding of what and how most schools are preparing for active assailants, and why it is important to work together during these types of drills.
     
  • Motivation for Staff 
    1 hour

    With our staff members being bombarded with so much in today’s world, sometimes it is nice to be uplifted and empowered while learning about what we can do about school safety. This presentation focuses on empowering the audience, and understanding that the sky truly is NOT falling!
     
  • Turning the Tables: Change is Student Led

    Tired of coming up with new ways to motivate students? Tired of telling them about the same dangers, only to see no change? Attendees will learn a new way of empowering students, and discover that sometimes it is the adults who get in the way of positive change.
     
  • Social Media 101 (Adults only
    1 hour

    This course will discuss the top applications that are our kids are using. We will talk about what the apps are used for and how they are created to hide things from adults. This is NOT a course on how to investigate social media crimes, but an informational course on what people are using applications for. 
     
  • Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR)
    1 hour

    Attendees will learn about the Suspicious Activity Reporting tool that the Kansas State Department of Education has partnered with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to help streamline the safety of our community.

Hunter Education

Hunter Education in Our Schools, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks webpage. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Tourism offers a unique program to any school in Kansas - The Hunter Education In Our Schools Program. Available at no cost to schools, the optional course offers participating students the opportunity to obtain hunter education certification required of anyone born on or after July 1, 1957, before hunting in Kansas.
