The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) - is an organization whose mission is to advance the quality of teaching and learning by: maintaining high and rigorous standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do; providing a national voluntary system certifying teachers who meet these standards, and; advocating related education reforms to integrate National Board Certification in American education and to capitalize on the expertise of National Board Certified Teachers. Fee subsidies for the 2009-2010 assessment year are closed. The fee subsidy application process for the 2010-11 assessment year will not open until early summer, after state and federal budget subsidy allocation amounts are finalized. Please check this website after May 1, 2010 for a link to leave your name and address in order to receive fee subsidy application materials when they become available.
