The Accomplished Teaching License is only available to teachers who have achieved National Board Certification® from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) through completion of their advanced level performance assessment process.

For more information on National Board Certification® and NBPTS go to www.nbpts.org.   Kansas also provides an application fee subsidy program for those teachers interested in pursuing National Board Certification®.  Fee subsidy information can be found by clicking this link Fee subsidy.

Kansas Licensed Teachers

Kansas licensed teachers must also hold a currently valid Kansas professional level teaching license as well as have achieved National Board Certification®

NBCTs from out-of-state

National Board Certified Teachers® coming from out-of-state may apply for the accomplished license as their initial Kansas license.  Part of the application process includes verifying a currently valid National Board Certificate® and a currently valid professional level teaching license in another state.  The accomplished license will be valid for as long as the current National Board Certificate® is valid.
