Current Events and Issues

A summary of action and other business from the September State Board of Education meeting is provided.   Summary   Official minutes are posted online after the Board has approved them the following month.

 

The next regular State Board of Education meeting is Oct. 13 and 14.   Individuals who need the use of a sign language interpreter, or who require other special accommodations, should contact the State Board secretary at 785-296-3203 or plhill@ksde.org at least seven business days prior to a State Board meeting.

 

Note about Citizens Open Forum and Safety Protocol:  During the Citizens Open Forum, the State Board of Education provides an opportunity for citizens to share views about topics of interest or issues currently being considered by the State Board. Masks or face coverings must be worn  within the Landon State Office Building. There is a screening station at the public entrance for temperature checks and a health questionnaire.  A sign-up sheet is available in the Board Room to indicate the open forum presenter's name and topic. Each speaker is allowed to speak for three minutes. If providing written material, 13 copies should be provided.
