If you are downloading an initial out-of-state or out-of-country application, you will need a fingerprint card. Always review the license requirements before applying or renewing.
Check your current credential at License Lookup. (Use of the incorrect renewal application may result in submission of incorrect renewal requirements and/or delay in processing).
Fingerprint Requirement At their September 2014 meeting, the Kansas State Board of Education adopted regulation changes regarding requirements for a fingerprint based records check. These changes will affect veteran educators who have never submitted fingerprints as part of any previous application for a Kansas certificate or license issued by the Kansas State Department of Education.
EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 15, 2014: Any person submitting any of the following will ALSO be required to submit AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION, a complete set of fingerprints and the required fee:

Standard Substitute Application - Initial substitute license for completers of a teacher preparation program outside of Kansas, OR renewal of the Kansas Standard Substitute license.
