Out-of-state applicant requirements for a professional teaching license:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Completion of a state-approved preparation program in the subject or field in which licensure is sought

  • Recency:  defined as at least one year of accredited teaching experience OR eight semester hours of college credit, within the six year period immediately prior to application

  • Out-of-state professional license

AND

  • 3 years of recent accredited experience under a standard teaching license.  Experience in a non-accredited school and/or experience under a pre-standard or temporary license is not applicable.  You must have achieved a professional level license in another state.
