Several Kansas State Board of Education members will be attending the Kansas Educational Leadership Institute (KELI) workshop for school leaders and mentors Sept. 10 in Manhattan. This event is one of the many ways KELI supports new school administrators. State Board members will have a unique opportunity to participate in the workshop with superintendents and principals who are involved with KELI either as a mentor or mentee. Partial funding for the professional learning day is provided by a stipend from the National Association of State Boards of Education. Dr. Marceta Reilly will be facilitator for the day. She is a leadership coach and author, who has spent most of her career in public education as a teacher, principal and school superintendent.
The next State Board meeting is Sept. 8 in Topeka, followed by a day of vision planning on Sept. 9. The agenda has been posted under the Board tab "agendas, meeting dates and minutes."
