To improve the quality and support the growth of teaching and learning of world languages.

LinguaFolio®

LinguaFolio® is an assessment tool for documenting the growth of language skills. It is based on the European Language Portfolio, National Foreign Language Standards, ACTFL Performance guidelines and ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and was developed by members of the National Council of State Supervisors of Languages (NCSSFL).

National Exams

Use national exams in order to compare students in Kansas to all regions of the country, provide measures of growth in receptive skills (reading, listening, viewing) and gather data on programmatic use of authentic texts, tasks, and standards-based instruction.

Consortium for Assessing Performance StandardsTasks and rubrics created by New Jersey teachers for Integrated Performance Assessments.
DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language)International certification of proficiency level according to European Frameworks (A1, A2, B1, etc.)
DELF (French Tests and Diplomas)International certification of proficiency level according to European Frameworks (A1, A2, B1, etc.)
ELLOPA, SOPA, and COPE K-6 Assessments 
Goethe-Zertifikat Deutsch (Use Fit 1, Fit 2, B1)International certification of proficiency level according to European Frameworks (A1, A2, B1, etc.)
Implementing Integrated Performance Assessments, ACTFLManual for IPAs contains 'how to' with rubrics for each level.
Language Testing International (ACTFL)Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and OPIc, the Writing Proficiency Test (WPT), and online Listening tests are based on ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.
PASCH-netThe Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen (Central Office for Schools Abroad) sponsors network & provides support for curriculum & assessments. By joining network, teachers receive training to assess Levels 1-4. A KS workshop will be at KSDE May 9 2015
