21st Century Community Learning Centers (Title IV-B)

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) are funded by federal dollars under Title IV-B. The 21st CCLC programs are intended to create community learning centers that provide academic and enrichment opportunities for children outside of the regular school day. In order to qualify for 21st CCLC funds, grantees must meet the following absolute priority: The grant will primarily serve students who attend schools eligible for Title I Schoolwide programs. Title I Schoolwide designation typically means that at least 40% of the students qualify to receive free or reduced-cost meals.

NEW Nita M. Lowey 2024 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant Competition

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is conducting a 2024 Kansas 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant competition. The 21st CCLC grant provides funds for out-of-school time programs serving students that attend a school with a 40% or higher free/reduced lunch population.

Applicants need to refer to the following to determine if a New Application or Re-Application should be completed.

Request for NEW Application (RFA) (Word)

A NEW Application should be completed if:

  • The applicant is applying for a SITE that has never received 21st CCLC funds;

or

  • The applicant is applying for a SITE that has not received 21st CCLC funds within the past five years.

Request for RE-Application (RFA) (Word)

A RE-Application should be completed if:

  • The applicant is applying for a SITE that has received 21st CCLC funds within the past five years.
