How to Register/Implement a Virtual School/Program

 

 

Step 1:  Registration Process and Timeline

New schools/programs need to complete an Intent Form

 

In order to be approved to collect virtual FTE for students enrolled in Virtual/Online courses, the program in which the students are
enrolled needs to be approved. 

Read about documents to be completed and the due dates for submission to KSDE in order to get your school/program on the approved list.

Step 2:  Intent to Register (New Only) and Desktop Audit Application

Registration: 
1.  Indicate the type of provider, the type of K-12 services offered, grade levels served and provider contact information.

2.  Fax the completed cover sheet with original signatures to Pat Bone, Senior Administrative Specialist, 785-296-5867.

Desktop Audit Application: 
1.  Provide a brief response for each of the leading questions for each virtual education requirement component.

2.  Fax the original signature page to Pat Bone, Senior 
Administrative Specialist, 785-296-5867.
    
3.  Email an electronic copy of the entire application to
    
pbone@ksde.org

Step 3:  Completing the Annual Report - Currently Registered Programs

At the end of the school year, specific program information is collected to include enrollment data and state testing results through Kansas Individual Data on Students (KIDS) .
