The next regular State Board of Education meeting is July 11 and 12 in Topeka. Agenda
Board members participate in regular work sessions focused on each of the state-level outcomes of the Kansans Can vision to lead the world in the success of each student. The outcomes are: social/emotional growth measured locally, kindergarten readiness, individual plans of study focused on career interest, high school graduation rates, postsecondary completion/attendance, plus civic engagement. On June 14, Board members learned how various agencies and schools are collaborating to create a comprehensive school mental health framework to serve students' social and emotional needs. At the July meeting, there will be discussion on creating a Kansas State Board of Education school mental health advisory council.
Individual Board members will be participating in the 150th anniversary celebration of the Kansas State School for the Blind.
