Kansas Integrated Accountability System

Beginning with the 2015-16 school year, the Early Childhood, Special Education and Title Services (ECSET) team at the Kansas State Department of Education will implement an integrated monitoring protocol for all of the Federal Programs (Title and IDEA) that ECSET oversees. All Federal programs will move to a three year monitoring cycle.

Further information regarding the ECSET Integrated monitoring will be shared during the 2015 Summer Leadership conference that will be held July 28-30, 2015.

Integrated Accountability Policies, Practices, and Procedures

The Kansas Integrated Accountability System (KIAS) results in a continuous monitoring cycle involving data collection, verification, reporting, and improvement activities by both the State and LEAs. The system will ensure both state and district level compliance with the federal special education requirements and monitor those areas most closely associated with improved academic achievement results for children and youth with exceptionalities.
