Accreditation and Design presenting technical changes to KESA at State Board meeting

The Accreditation and Design (AD) team is scheduled to present to the State Board of Education from 1:30-2:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 11.

You can livestream each State Board of Education meeting here. During this time, the AD team will be presenting technical changes to the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) model for the 2023-2024 school year. These technical changes include:

  1. KESA expectations for all systems in 2023-2024 (Learning Year)
  2. KSDE’s new regional/cohort model of support
  3. The Peer Review model (formerly known as OVT)

This presentation will be informative, as the full scope of enhancements to KESA will be presented in October 2023 with action slotted for December 2023.

The KSDE AD team plans on announcing these changes to all system leaders at its Beginning of the Year Kick Off for KESA on Aug. 10 (meeting options will be 8-9 a.m. or 3-4 p.m. on Zoom – LINK HERE). Details about that event will be shared in the coming weeks via KSDEweekly.
