KSDE offers reminders about ESSER items, including approval letters, deadlines

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has these important reminders about Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) topics:

An approval letter is required for all districts completing capital improvement projects with ESSER funds. A few examples of capital improvement projects are touchless sinks, water bottle fillers, and HVAC upgrades or replacements. The Capital Improvement and Construction Request Form can be found on KSDE’s website at: https://www.ksde.org/Portals/0/ECSETS/Announcements/ESSER_Capital_Improvement_and_Construction_Request_Form.docx.

A completed Equipment Purchase Form is required for any equipment that is more than $5,000 per item. The Equipment Purchase Form can be found at the following link on KSDE’s website: https://www.ksde.org/Portals/0/Title/LCP/EquipmentPurchaseForm.pdf.

A new deadline of May 31 has been established to submit all fully allocated Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief (ESSER) II plans.

For assistance with your ESSER II plan, email esser@ksde.org.
