Child Nutrition and Wellness, Early Childhood teams have collaboration meeting

Members from the Kansas State Department of Education’s (KSDE) Early Childhood and Child Nutrition and Wellness (Child and Adult Care Food Program – CACFP) teams met Thursday, Dec. 15, to build relationships and learn a little more about the roles each team plays within the agency.

The three-hour meeting kicked off at 11:30 a.m. with introductions. There was a total of 12 people in attendance.

Each team highlighted what they do within the agency and shared resources. Topics included the 2022-2023 Preschool-Aged At-Risk Program requirements and assurances; early learning standards; the Kansas pre-kindergarten guide; upcoming wellness workshops; the Kansans Can Star Recognition Program (kindergarten readiness); and the connections between each team.
