In-person culinary training opportunities to be hosted in Wichita, Olathe and Garden City

Thanks to a United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) Team Nutrition grant, there are three regional Local Foods Culinary Workshops scheduled in July and August.

Registration options include half- or full-day options. The half-day option, from 9 a.m. to noon, includes presentations and demonstrations. The full-day option, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes the morning session and an afternoon hands-on culinary lab experience.

Please note that registrations for the full-day option are limited because of culinary lab capacity at each site.

Sponsors will be paid a stipend to offset travel costs for each participant. Each school represented at the training will receive a culinary toolkit.

For more information, contact Kelly Chanay, assistant director for the Kansas State Department of Education’s (KSDE) Child Nutrition and Wellness team, at kchanay@ksde.org
