  • 47 years in public education, including 34 as Superintendent of Schools.
  • Civic leadership includes serving on the Fredonia Library Board and with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the 31st Judicial District, plus former Fredonia Hospital Board of Trustees member.
  • Church music director for more than 30 years, including director of the Fredonia Community Choir.

Mr. Porter is a long-time public school educator, spending part of his career teaching music to students in grades kindergarten through high school. As a school administrator, he has experience as both a building principal and superintendent. Mr. Porter has served as an adjunct education instructor for a number of universities at both the undergraduate and graduate level, plus was administrator in a professional development center. He and his wife Charlene live in Fredonia. They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
