  • Represents the following school districts in western and central Kansas, District 5
  • First term on State Board began in January 2019
  • Committee Assignments: State Board Policy Committee, Interstate Migrant Education Council, Teacher Vacancy and Supply Committee
  • Member of the Garden City USD 457 Board of Education from 2009-2019; served as USD 457 Board President and Vice President
  • Kansas teaching certificate with endorsements in Elementary, Special Education, Adaptive and Gifted Education; taught at the elementary level and as an adjunct college instructor
  • Member of the Kansas Health Institute Board since 2017
  • Retired Air Force Officer and attorney with 30 years of service as a Judge Advocate

As an active community member, Mrs. Clifford has served on the Garden City Cultural Relations Board, the Garden City Family YMCA Board, the Methodist Youthville Board, St. Dominic School Council, and as a Lee Richardson Zoo Docent and Spirit of the Plains CASA volunteer. 

Mrs. Clifford has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa; a Master of Science Degree in Special Education from Fort Hays State; and a Juris Doctor Degree from Stetson University College of Law in Florida. She is married to William S. Clifford, M.D., and lives in Garden City. She and her husband have six children and one grandson.
