The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is conducting a 2024 Kansas Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Grant competition. The 21st CCLC grant provides funds for out-of-school time programs serving students that attend a school with a 40% or higher free/reduced lunch population. Visit Kansas Safe Routes to Schools for ways to get more kids walking, biking, and rolling to school, improve route safety, and increase health and physical activity. Safe Routes to Schools programs can decrease the number of families driving to school, which can reduce traffic, improve air quality, and reduce costs for families.

Last week, the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund announced a new grant opportunity. The Capital Projects Fund Accelerator will award $38 million in construction-only grants for community multi-purpose facilities to expand on the state’s efforts to create new licensed child care slots while adding space to enable work, health monitoring and education supports.
