The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has these important reminders about Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief (ESSER) topics: 

• Districts, please review ESSER II plans and ensure they match the expenditures included in ESSER quarterly reporting. Please be sure to follow up with the KSDE’s ESSER team if you have any questions or concerns regarding ESSER II plans. To make changes to your approved ESSER II plan, please follow the directions at https://www.ksde.org/Portals/0/ECSETS/Announcements/ESSERII-ChangeRequestProcess.pdf. 
• An approval letter is required for all districts completing capital improvement projects with ESSER funds. A few examples of capital improvement projects are touchless sinks, water bottle fillers, and HVAC upgrades or replacements. • A completed Equipment Purchase Form is required for any equipment that is more than $5,000 per item. The Equipment Purchase Form can be found at the following link on KSDE’s website: https://www.ksde.org/Portals/0/Title/LCP/EquipmentPurchaseForm.pdf.
