The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) will be providing CTE Professional Development (Technical Assistance) opportunities in the fall at educational service centers.

Topics being covered:

  • Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).
  • Career Cluster and Pathway Program of Study Applications (CPPSAs).
  • CTE Clusters and Pathways.
  • Double-up and nesting requests.
  • Individual Plan of Study (IPS).
  • Industry recognized or sought credentials.
  • Kansas Course Code Management System (KCCMS) summary.
  • KSDE updates.
  • Office of Civil Rights  (OCR) Compliance.
  • Perkins V.
  • Student data management summary.
     
  • Kansas Work-Based Learning (WBL) Continuum that incudes elementary career field awareness, middle school Career and Technical Education (CTE) cluster exploration and high school CTE career pathway preparation.
    • Examples of WBL experiences across the continuum will be presented and participants will be encouraged to share local WBL experiences.
    • Postsecondary educational resources and labor market informational resources created by state agencies will be shared.

CTE coordinators and representatives of the CTE district teams are encouraged to attend (teachers, counselors and administrators).
