Nearly half of state’s children qualify for free/reduced-price meals
TOPEKA — The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is seeking sponsors who are willing to provide nutritious meals to Kansas children during the summer months.
The Kansas State Board of Education began Tuesday’s meeting by electing a new chair and vice chair. District 9’s Jim Porter was elected the new chairman, and District 8’s Kathy Busch was elected the vice chair.
The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is proposing revisions to the current College and Career Ready Standards in Mathematics. The revisions are part of the legislated review process that must take place every seven years.
Two Kansas students have been selected as delegates to the 55th annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) that will take place March 4-11, 2017, in Washington, D.C.
TOPEKA – Thirty-two first-year educators from Kansas are being recognized for their outstanding teaching skills through the 2017 Kansas Horizon Award program.
