EPA offers clean school bus funding opportunity

The Environmental Protection Agency anticipates awarding up to $932 million in competitive grant funding under the 2024 Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grants Program Notice of Funding Opportunity.

The grants program is soliciting applications nationwide for a grant competition to fund the replacement of existing non-zero-emission Class 6 and 7 heavy-duty vehicles with zero-emission Class 6 and 7 heavy-duty vehicles, which includes Class 6 and Class 7 school buses. Classes are based on gross vehicle weight (GVW) scale, Class 6 (19,501 – 26,000 lbs.) and Class 7 (26,001 – 33,000 lbs.)

Follow this link for more information: https://www.epa.gov/clean-heavy-duty-vehicles-program/clean-heavy-duty-vehicles-grant-program#EV

All application packages must be submitted electronically to the EPA through Grants.gov no later than Wednesday, July 25, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (ET) to be considered for funding.

Due to the vast amount of information, emails and updates generated by the EPA, KSDE asks if you are interested in a rebate or grant to purchase an electric bus, please click here to sign up for the EPA email list.
