ACT offers information on PreACT 8/9

Below is some valuable information from ACT regarding the state paid PreACT 8/9:

Welcome to PreACT 8/9 State testing. Your PreACT 8/9 test materials ordering window is now open.

Below, you will find a to-do list to help streamline your administration process.

To Do

  • Familiarize yourself with your entire PreACT 8/9 testing webpage, your go-to resource for everything related to this testing cycle. This page includes:
  • Register and attend the training webinar: PreACT 8/9 Test Administration Training (webinar) – 10 a.m. Sept. 26. A recording of the webinar will be available one hour after its conclusion, at the same link you used to register. A link also will be posted to your ACT-hosted testing webpage.
  • Identify needs for Accommodations and EL (English Learners) Supports. Granting accommodations and/or English learner (EL) supports for PreACT 8/9 testing is a local (school) decision based on examinees’ accommodations plans and does do not need to be authorized by ACT.

Note: Use of accommodations on the PreACT 8/9 test does not guarantee authorization of accommodations for the ACT test.

  • Have the building test coordinator order PreACT 8/9 materials through College and Career Readiness Information System (CCRIS). Order materials any time from Sept. 6 to Oct. 21, 2023.
    • Select “Kansas PreACT 8/9 2023-Grade 9 only” in the Choose Program drop-down menu when placing your order.
    • Order materials at least three weeks before you plan to test; ACT recommends planning more time between entering the order and testing.

Note: If you are eligible to participate in more than one program, the CCRIS ordering system allows you to order test materials under different contracts. You must select the correct contract (program) from the Choose Program drop-down menu when ordering. Selecting an incorrect contract will delay reporting and may mean your school receives an invoice.

  • Share this information with additional testing staff who will benefit from it.
