Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association (KSPTA) was formed in 1970 by a forward looking group of dedicated transportation professionals. We are quickly coming up on the regional safe driver competitions (formerly known as a bus rodeo) for 2020. All Kansas school bus drivers are invited to participate in the regional competitions as outlined below. NOTE: you are not required to participate in a regional competition to be eligible for the State competition.
Two regional events are scheduled in 2020; one in Wichita and the other in the Topeka area. You may compete in whichever event you choose, but you may compete in only one.
The Topeka event will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Shawnee Heights High School, 4201 SE Shawnee Heights Rd., Tecumseh, KS. Registration will begin at 8:30am and the competition will begin at 9:00am.
The Wichita event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Northeast Magnet High School, 5050 N. Lycee, BelAire, KS. Registration will begin at 8:30 am and the competition will begin at 9am.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the district competitions. Remember to bring a lawn chair, sunscreen, and water!
The Study Guide (see link below) is designed to prepare you to take the Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association’s General Knowledge Regional (25 questions) and State (50 questions) Competition Tests. The Competition Manual (see link below) is designed to prepare you for the actual driving portion.
The KSPTA School Bus Safety Conference & State Driving Competiton will be held June 2-4, 2021, at the Tony's Event Center in Salina, Kansas.
