The Kansans Can Star Recognition Program recognizes districts for what Kansans told us they value.
These values include social-emotional growth, kindergarten readiness, Individual Plans of Study (IPS), high school graduation preparedness, high school graduation, civic engagement and postsecondary success.
For the 2019-2020 school year, districts will be recognized in the following quantitative areas only:
Beginning in 2020, districts will have the opportunity to apply for recognition in the following qualitative categories:
Rubrics will be established for each of these qualitative measures to help guide districts in the application process. More information will be released in early 2020.
