Other schools, districts also honored at ceremony in Topeka

Anthony Elementary and David Brewer Elementary schools, Leavenworth Unified School District 453, were announced as 2019 Kansas Schools of Character on Wednesday, May 1, during a special ceremony at the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka.

Kansans Can School Redesign Project helping meet needs of all students

The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named 185 schools in 98 Kansas public school districts as recipients of the 2018 Challenge Awards.

The next regular Kansas State Board of Education meeting is April 16 and 17, the third week of the month.  Board members will meet in Topeka on the 16th, then on the 17th they will visit the School for the Blind in Kansas City and School for the Deaf in Olathe.

Challenge encourages employer-supported volunteering

Fourteen Kansas employers have registered for the first Give Back Kansas Challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to engage Kansans in employer-supported volunteering. This statewide challenge runs from April 1 through May 31, 2019.
