COFFEYVILLE – The Kansas State Board of Education met at Coffeyville Unified School District 445’s District Office for its November meeting and to begin a tour of the Mercury 7 district.

Whitney Morgan, an English language arts and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher at Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas, Unified School District 500, was named the 2019 Kansas Teacher of the Year on Saturday, Nov. 17, during a special ceremony in Wichita.
Students at 42 schools will have better access to breakfast after a total of $142,519 in grants were awarded to programs across the state, the Kansas State Department of Education announced Tuesday, Nov. 13.
The next regular Kansas State Board of Education meeting is Nov. 13 and 14 in Coffeyville. Members will conduct a brief business meeting on Tuesday, then tour buildings in Coffeyville USD 445 participating in school redesign.
