Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) employees took part in the Mountain Plains Crunch Off on Monday, Oct. 31.
This was the fourth year for the event. It takes place annually in October to celebrate Farm to School Month. States throughout the Mountain Plains Region (Colorado, Montana, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming) have a friendly competition to see which state can get the most crunches into a local apple or other local produce.
Kansas hoped to record 50,000 crunches throughout the month of October. Stay tuned to find out if the state reached its goal.
