Attention Kansas educators: Register now for KSDE 2023 Summer Academies

All Kansas educators are encouraged to make a reservation today for upcoming Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Summer Academies. 

There are four different dates and locations to choose from: 

  • June 12-13: Buhler High School, 611 N. Main St. in Buhler. The registration deadline is May 29. 
  • June 15-16: Colby High School, 1809 S. Franklin Ave. in Colby. The registration deadline is June 1. 
  • July 10-11: Billy Mills Middle School, 2734 Louisiana St. in Lawrence. The registration deadline is June 26. 
  • July 13-14: Atchison High School, 1500 Riley St. in Atchison. The registration deadline is June 29. 


Attendees will receive in-depth, content-specific instructional support. Choose from the content areas below and prepare to spend two days immersed in hands-on learning in that area: 

  • Career and Technical Education (CTE) 
  • Early childhood 
  • Elementary  
  • Dyslexia  
  • History, government, social studies  
  • Science  
  • Math  
  • English language arts  
  • English Learners  
  • Fine arts  
  • Climate and wellness  
  • Counseling  
  • Special education 


The cost is $150 per two-day session and includes professional learning, continental breakfast and lunch each day. Professional development credit is available for an additional fee and assignment completion. 

Walk-in registrations won’t be accepted. Send checks and purchase orders to KSDE Career, Standards and Assessment Services, Attention: Casey Barezinsky, 900 S.W. Jackson, Topeka, Kansas, 66612. Credit card payments aren’t accepted.
