The Kansas State Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting in the Boardroom at the Kansas State Department of Education on Tuesday, October 13, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing on Wednesday, October 14, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The State Board will receive the 2009 State Report Card data at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13.

TOPEKA—October 5, 2009—When Kansas’ more than 263,000 students in grades 3–8 and 11 receive their Kansas State Assessment reports later this month, their reading scores will also be reported as a Lexile® measure.   View Article

TOPEKA – September 28, 2009 - Kansas State Department of Education today announced that Kansas schools and districts using Renaissance Learning’s STAR Reading and STAR Math assessments hosted on the Renaissance Place Real Time platform will be the first in the nation to have new reporting capabilities for assessing progress towards proficiency on the Kansas General Reading and Math Assessments.
