Ages & Stages Questionnaires to be topic of training session

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Early Childhood team and the Kansas Parent Information Resource Center (KPIRC) are partnering for an online training on the Ages and Stages Questionnaires ® Third Edition (ASQ- 3) and Ages and Stages ®: Social-Emotional, Second Education (ASQ: SE-2).

This free training will take place from 9 a.m. to noon online. Check-in will begin at 8:55 a.m.

This training is designed to provide any professional working with children birth through kindergarten entry an understanding of ASQ and how to effectively partner with families to complete the developmental screenings.

The training incorporates a family study, role-playing connections with caregivers, and scoring exercises. Participants also will learn how to discuss screening results, next steps and referrals to community resources with families. There is also an overview of ASQ Online.

KPIRC’s Tamara Huff and Tabatha Rosproy, who also is the 2020 Kansas Teacher of the Year and 2020 National Teacher of the Year, will lead the training.
