Beginning July 1, 2024, the Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) will go cashless and there will NO longer be toll tickets and toll booths.
While your school district may not routinely use the turnpike, we recommend being prepared for unexpected travel – such as to state tournaments, etc. – by getting a KTAG. KTAGs are free and no prepayment is required.
KTAGs are assigned to a vehicle along with the vehicle’s registration tag/license plate. Since yellow school buses under Kansas law are not required to have a registration tag/license plate, you will need to contact the Kansas Turnpike Customer Service Center at 1-800-USE-KTAG (1-800-873-5824) to obtain a KTAG for a yellow school bus that does not display a registration tag/license plate.
