This is an essential building block for future achievement and academic success. It is the goal of the Kansas State Department of Education and the Kansas State Board of Education that each student enters kindergarten at age 5 socially, emotionally and academically prepared for success. It is important to measure kindergarten readiness to help teachers meet each student where he or she is academically and socially upon entering kindergarten.
Beginning in 2020, districts will have the opportunity to apply for kindergarten readiness recognition.
The Kansas State Department of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities. (more information...)
