TOPEKA – The Kansas State Department of Education in partnership with Midwest Dairy Council, Harvesters, Kansas Food Bank, Second Harvest Community Food Bank and Kansas Action for Healthy Kids today announced the winners of the 2013-2014 Kansas School Breakfast Challenge.

TOPEKA – During its recent meeting, the Kansas State Board of Education (KSBE) voted to adopt an amendment to regulation KAR 91-1-214 Criminal History Records Check that will require individuals applying for renewal of a valid Kansas teaching certificate or license to submit fingerprints, if the person has never submitted fingerprints as part of any previous application for a Kansas certificate or license issued by the KSBE.
As AmeriCorps marks its 20th anniversary, Kansas AmeriCorps members, alumni, and supporters will gather at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum on September 12th at 10:00 AM to celebrate the contributions of AmeriCorps to Kansas.
TOPEKA – Jennifer Hofferber, a special education teacher for students in grades 4-6 at Sunflower Intermediate School in Liberal (Liberal USD 480), and Shannon Ralph, a high school biology teacher at Dodge City High School (Dodge City USD 443), were named Region 1 finalists for the 2015 Kansas Teacher of the Year award during a ceremony held today at the Salina Country Club. This award recognizes excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms of the state.
