TOPEKA – In preparation for the 2015 state assessments, Kansas schools put the Kansas Interactive Testing Engine® (KITE™), the state’s assessment delivery platform, to the test on Tuesday, October 28. Referred to as “Break KITE Day,” the Kansas State Department of Education and its assessment partner, the Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation (CETE), worked with schools to simulate extreme testing conditions in order to test out the bandwidth of local school buildings as well as the bandwidth and load balancers of CETE.
TOPEKA, KS - Governor Sam Brownback has proclaimed Wednesday, October 22, 2014, as School Bus Drivers’ Appreciation Day in Kansas. Each year, Kansas school bus drivers transport more than 200,000 students in excess of 66 million miles. Kansas currently employs 4,272 school bus drivers.
TOPEKA – The University of Kansas Department of Special Education and the Center for Research on Learning jointly awarded the 2014 Leadership in Learning Award to Wichita School District, USD 259.
