Funding will increase number of STEM mentors serving Kansas youth
The Kansas Volunteer Commission (KVC), in partnership with Kansas Mentors, recently announced nearly $110,000 in funding to six Kansas mentoring organizations through the 2017 Kansas Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Mentoring Initiative grant competition.
During the Feb. 14-15 Kansas State Board of Education meeting, Kansas Commissioner of Education Randy Watson discussed the National Student Clearinghouse data, which will be available to all Kansas districts by late spring.
The Kansas State Board of Education will conduct its next meeting Tuesday, Feb, 14 in the Board Room (Suite 102) of the Landon State Office Building, 900 SW Jackson. On Feb. 15, Board members will have a work session, which is open to the public, in Room 509 of the Landon Building.
