Each year, the Kansas State Department of Education works in conjunction with surrounding states to provide the HIV/AIDS/STDs & Human Sexuality Education Conference to teachers, nurses, physicians, counselors, and other public health individuals. The theme of this year’s conference is “Back to Basics of HIV/AIDS/STDs and Human Sexuality Education.”
Keynote speakers include Forrest L. Alton, Executive Director at the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, Kenya S. Masala, Co-Director of the Source Consulting Group, and Jeanne White-Ginder. White-Ginder is the mother of Ryan White, an AIDS victim who suffered mistreatment and rejection in his own community for his disease.
