TOPEKA – November 7, 2008 – The Kansas State Department of Education partnered with Renaissance Learning to launch a new web-based book-searching tool which will assist parents and educators in matching students to appropriate books. The website, called Kansas All Books Connect (Kansas ABC), has been created with the purpose of putting the “Right Book in the Right Hands at the Right Time.”

With this program, each student’s score on the Kansas State Reading Assessment will be linked to an individual grade reading range, making it easier to find suitable books for the student. In addition to using assessment scores, the search feature allows a student to find books matching his or her interest level in both English and Spanish.

The Kansas All Books Connect website went live on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. To access the website go to: www.kansas.bookconnect.com.

For additional information or questions regarding the Kansas ABC program, please contact Jeannette Nobo at (785) 296-3047.
