TOPEKA—October 5, 2009—When Kansas’ more than 263,000 students in grades 3–8 and 11 receive their Kansas State Assessment reports later this month, their reading scores will also be reported as a Lexile® measure.   View Article

TOPEKA – September 28, 2009 - Kansas State Department of Education today announced that Kansas schools and districts using Renaissance Learning’s STAR Reading and STAR Math assessments hosted on the Renaissance Place Real Time platform will be the first in the nation to have new reporting capabilities for assessing progress towards proficiency on the Kansas General Reading and Math Assessments.

Joan L. Moore, a first-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in McPherson (McPherson USD 418), and Jeline D. Harclerode, an eighth-grade computer technology teacher at Emporia Middle School (Emporia USD 253), were named Region 1 finalists for the 2010 Kansas Teacher of the Year award today.
