State Board Chairman David Dennis has called a special meeting of the Kansas State Board of Education to be held in conjunction with the Board’s regularly scheduled legislative conference call at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
The conference call, originating from the Office of the Commissioner at the Kansas State Department of Education, will begin with a motion to recess into an executive session for the purpose of consultation with the Board's bargaining representation in employer-employee negotiations, to protect the public interest in negotiating a fair and equitable contract. The legislative update will begin as soon as the open meeting resumes.
