The Kansas State Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting in the Boardroom at the Kansas State Department of Education on Tuesday, October 13, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing on Wednesday, October 14, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The State Board will receive the 2009 State Report Card data at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13.

Prior to the release of the report card information, a media briefing has been scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in the boardroom at KSDE. Deputy Commissioner Diane DeBacker will be discussing the results with media. The information being shared is embargoed until the official release at 1:30 p.m. on October 13, 2009. This information may not be released to the public until after that time.
Additionally, we ask that you not contact schools/districts regarding the data until after 1:30 p.m. on October 13, 2009.
Media representatives will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement prior to the briefing. The agreement is attached below.

Under this agreement, you will have access to secure and confidential assessment data belonging to the Kansas State Department of Education. These data are under strict EMBARGO and may not be copied, published, announced, or in any other way made public including email, voice mail, and/or other electronic forms of communication prior to their official release to the Kansas State Board of Education at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
By accepting this agreement, you acknowledge that the data and related information constitute proprietary and confidential materials of the Kansas State Department of Education. You agree to keep all data and related information secure and confidential until the time of their official release. In the event that these embargoed materials are stolen or lost, or in the event that an unauthorized party has gained access to these materials, please notify Karla S. Denny immediately.
