What is it?
|
A comprehensive assessment system that includes four functions: test delivery, creating test content, test management/reporting, a learning map tool. It is web-based and accessible via web browsers online (see below).

One small software application designed for instructional writing tasks tied to the 6-trait writing model. Is accessible by downloading the software from the CETE website.

Is it operational?
|
Yes, school personnel will soon be able to use KITE even though it is currently still in development. Starting in the fall, KITE will be used to pilot a few assessment programs (see below). In 2014, KITE will replace the current computerized system of Kansas Computerized Assessments (formative, interim, summative).

Who has access?
|
In Fall 2012, some school personnel will have access to KITE during piloting of the following assessment programs:
-The Adaptive Reading Motivation Measures (ARMM)
-Career Pathways Assessment (cPass)
-Formative Assessments on iPad
|
Currently it is available for teachers and students to use.
Access for building and district users is currently not available. Updates about access for building and district users will be available soon.

What can it do?
|
When the KITE platform is fully operational in 2014, school personnel will be able to use KITE for creating, administering, managing, and delivering a variety of assessments.
|
Currently, for instructional use, teachers can:
-Create, edit, search for writing prompts
-Create, edit, search for grading rubrics
-Create, edit, search for writing tasks
-Score writing tasks & add comments to student responses
-View & print student responses for completed tasks.
-View aggregate reports by student, class, grade, and writing task.

What about iPads?
|
KITE is a web-based assessment system that can be accessed via a web browser online. For iPads, KITE can be accessed through the Safari web browser. More information about accessing KITE for iPads and via web browsers will be available soon. The cPass assessment will be optimized for iPad in the future.

KWIET isn’t currently optimized for iPads.
