Volunteer Management in the 21st Century

The Kansas Volunteer Commission is proud to sponsor the Kansas Assocication of Volunteer Centers' (KAVC) pre-conference session on Volunteer Management in the 21st Century. Ricky Lynch, consultant for Lynch & Associates in Seattle, WA and author of Keeping Volunteers and  Volunteer Management will lead this day-long training.

Participants will learn: 
  • Learn 6 basic changes we must make to keep volunteers engaged.
  • Recognize 3 new models of volunteer management
  • Learn 4 elements of a motivating volunteer role.
  • Learn how to work with staff that work with volunteers.
  • Learn 5 methods of recruiting volunteer.
  • Learn how to target the recruitment message.
  • Know the 3 elements of an effective recruitment message.
  • Learn the 8 steps to an effective recruitment campaign.
  • Learn the 3 basic needs that must be met to retain volunteers
