Concentration Elective Description: The Data Quality Certification Program Concentration in Graduation and Dropout Data is designed to increase understanding of the specific graduation and dropout data collected by the KSDE.
Target Audience: DQC participants seeking certification may include this optional concentration in their certification coursework. However, this concentration may also be taken by those not seeking certification in the DQC Program. The Graduation and Dropout Concentration Elective is open to school and district staff, SIS Vendors, KSDE employees, or anyone seeking to understand more about how graduation and dropout data is reported to KSDE.
Course Delivery Methods:
1. Participants may complete the session participation requirement by choosing one of the following two options.
a. Online recordings will be the primary platform for the Graduation and Dropout Concentration. Participants are required to view the recording prior to completing the homework exercises. If a participant attends a regional conference presentation, then he/she does not need to view an online recording.
b. In-person presentations for the Graduation and Dropout Data Concentration may be offered at regional education conferences. In-person sessions will be offered when a conference accepts the DQC Concentration as a session. If a participant views the recording, then he/she does not need to participate in a conference session.
2. Homework Exercises
a. Participants are required to complete all homework exercises via the online learning management site, Quia.com. After viewing the Graduation and Dropout Data Concentration video, participants will be required to complete a series of follow-up homework exercises in Quia.
