The U.S. Department of Education awarded Safe and Supportive Schools grants to 11 State Education Agencies (SEAs) to support statewide measurement of, and targeted programmatic interventions to improve, conditions for learning (CFL). Projects take a systematic approach to improving CFL (also known as school climate) in eligible schools through improved measurement systems, which must include school safety, and the implementation of programmatic interventions that address problems identified by data.
