Title I Targeted Assistance Schools

Welcome to the Title I Targeted Assistance Schools website. There are two types of Title I schools: Targeted Assistance Schools (TAS) and Schoolwides. A Targeted Assistance School is one in which Title I funds may only be used for services to eligible children identified as having the greatest need for special assistance. Districts and Title I schools follow specific criteria in determining which children are eligible to receive Title I services. These services are supplemental to the core program; they focus primarily on reading and mathematics support. Approximately two thirds of Kansas Title I schools are Targeted Assistance Schools.   Questions regarding Title I may be directed to:
