Charter School Advisory Council

All meetings are scheduled 1:30-3:30pm and use LiveMedia.         


The purpose of the Kansas Charter School Advisory Council shall be to:

Review and provide input to Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) staff concerning Charter Schools.

 Advise KSDE staff of promising practices, challenges, advantages of Charter Schools. 

  • The council is advisory only, and has some limitations. It may not dictate policy and must deal with issues rather than particular persons. 
  • The term “advisory” is intended to mean:
Inquiring
Informing
Suggesting
Recommending, and
Evaluating
  • Act as Charter Schools advocate in the field and as liaisons to other groups.
  • Provide recommendations and information to the State Board of Education regarding policy and      requirements.
