What is the Kansas eTranscript Initiative?
The Kansas statewide electronic transcript initiative is to streamline the exchange of K-12 student records and the transferring of high school transcripts.
Who is directing this initiative?
The Kansas State Department of Education has convened an advisory committee with representatives from the Kansas State Department of Education, the Kansas Board of Regents, Kansas State Colleges and Universities, and Kansas Schools and Districts. eTranscript Advisory Council list: eTranscript Advisory Council members PDF 
What is the college's role?
Postsecondary schools can register to be able to receive high school or college transcripts.
What is the K-12 role?
K-12 schools and districts will be able to register to begin sending and receiving transcripts and student records.
What are the costs?
There is no cost to districts or to students. the eTranscript Initiative is funded through a longitudinal data system grant awarded to KSDE by the Institute of Education Sciences. Furthermore, the initiative requires no hardware, software, or ongoing maintenance.
What Next?
The state, with the help of Docufide, will let high schools, colleges and universities know about the eTranscript initiative. The more schools that participate, the more effective the initiative will be for students. KSDE and Docufide will start this initiative with 10 pilot districts. The pilot districts will begin sending and receiving transcripts and student records in spring 2010. The rollout will continue over the next two years until all districts have been implemented.
