Video Conference Workshops

KSDE Special Education Services and the EIPA Diagnostic Center are excited to offer three video conference workshops for the 2009-20010 academic year. The workshops are designed for interpreters working in K-12 classroom settings, community interpreters, future interpreters,K-12 interpreter mentors, deaf educators and individuals supervising or working with interpreters. The workshops will be offered via video conferencing technology and can be downloaded to multiple sites. 

10/01/2009 The Special Education Services (SES) Team of the KSDE is pleased to announce a request for proposals (RFP) to award up to 8 grants for the new SES Technical Assistance Support Network (TASN). A bidders’ teleconference will be held on October 13, 2009. Letters of intent to submit a proposal(s) are due to Colleen Riley, State Director of Special Education Services Team, on or by close of business, October 23, 2009. Application deadline is 5:00 pm, December 30, 2009.

The 2009-2010 Professional Development Interactive Satellite Downlink Series offers nationally recognized experts who provide quality, cutting-edge personnel development for a variety of stakeholders through satellite downlinks and streaming media at NO COST. Intended audiences include state directors of special education, state agency staff, local administrators, teachers, related service providers, higher education faculty, families, youth leaders, community leaders and more.. These downlinks are being made available at no cost to schools, downlink sites or other interested educational entities across the state of Kansas via video teleconferencing and streaming online video with unlimited videotaping rights and unlimited rebroadcast rights for in-state, educational, non-commercial use such as broadcast at schools, libraries, public television stations, etc.
